How to Come Out Strong from the Covid-19 Home Confinement

A couple of months ago, at the beginning of the year, I spoke about an upcoming digital tsunami coming to test businesses and people. It was when I launched Executive Innovators Board and Leveraging Digital Transformation. Little did I know that it would take the form of a virus.

In this challenging time, here are some 10 suggestions to help you navigate through the crisis and make it out strong.

  1. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Health is wealth! #selfcare

  2. Stay home as much as possible, and if you are sick, get help from your local health organizations.

  3. The global economy, every business will be affected somehow, but it is not the end of the world. This too should pass. Keep a positive mindset.

  4. Create a pleasant, uplifting and harmonious ambiance in your home. Move things around if needed, decorate, clean, get out your favorite things, add sound, music, perfume or aromas, colors, let the sunshine in, bring in beauty, add anything that makes you happy, create a positive and energetic atmosphere.

  5. Work from home as much as possible. Create a work schedule or routine and stay organized. If you don’t have an office, dedicate a specific space or corner for you to work. #workfromhome

  6. If it not possible to work from home but must stay home, take the opportunity to learn something new online, read a book, listen to audio, listen to music, practice your favorite hobby, play computer games, etc.

  7. In all cases, allow yourself some relaxation or fun time. Though I am working, I’ll be gardening, baking, dancing, reading… even if it means doing nothing but to stay and think positively or constructively.

  8. If you have kids that you must home-schooled as a result of the situation (like me), create a work routine for them, so they progressively adjust to their new reality.

  9. Stay connected online with family, friends, colleagues, network as you wish. There are too many media free and paid available for that.

  10. Prepare for after the crisis, especially how you will counter the adverse effects on your work, business, or organization. This also includes emotional distress that may come as a result. Worry won’t solve a thing, but creating the right strategy and acting on them will help. I will help you with that in my upcoming videos and webinars. Stay tuned. #businesstransformation
